| Sheet metal flanging creates a flange, in other words a flat external or internal face on dish ends, pipe or tube.
Outer flanging is obtained by a roller inside the piece moving outwards against an external counter-roller and the process is inverted for inner flanging.
The flange size is dependent on the diameter or polygonal shape, the thickness and type of material. Moreover flanging welded pieces demands special attention.
In general when beading and trimming machines are used for flanging they are best suited for sheet metal workshops, light fixtures, industrial air handling. |
